With Summer coming to an end and college starting back up for some-It's the perfect time to take advantage of a weekend getaway or a night out with the gals. This Lemon Off the Shoulder Blouse from SheIn is the perfect summer wear! I love the sleeves and the lemon print detail.


When it comes to denim, the darker the denim the more flattering-my personal taste. However, these Vigoss distressed denim from Nordstrom are the perfect length to pair with a cute pair of fall booties and the price point is ridiculously good. Straight leg denim compliments any top, especially off the shoulder. You can't go wrong with a straight leg-pant style!


D and I are off to a wedding in Omaha this weekend to celebrate the marriage of our cousin and his beautiful wife-to-be. We also have a baby shower for another one of our cousins and I seriously can't wait! I love seeing other mamas-to-be! I hope y'all have an amazing week!

This weekends temps had this girl excited for spring. While I was stuck inside most of the weekend, watching state wrestling, without a phone...{not going to lie it was actually nice} I was able to sneak off to the mall with my sister-in-law.

I think it's safe to say we both did some {reasonable} damage. I mean we deserve it! I can't wait to share a blog post on some of the new beauty products I recently purchased.

I've been obsessing over this Bobbi Brown Blush {pastel pink} and decided to give it a try. I also adore this Mac lip shade in "Candy Yum Yum."

I can't wait to pack away all my winter sweaters and pull out all my spring clothing. I'm looking forward to wearing pastels, printed ankle pants, and fun sandals like these Elina Linardaki {currently on my wish list}.

I'm dying over how cute and versatile this Phlox Collar necklace is. I couldn't resist. This necklace can be worn with a plain white Tee for a more casual look or pairs nicely with this Vince Camuto "Off the Shoulder" blouse.

Leopard... the fabric of my life..{see what I did there}? Not real leopard but haircalf {I'm not sure what that means...don't judge me} anyways.... I dig. I dig...A LOT. I live in flats when I'm running around seeing patients at the hospital so these will be there perfect touch!

Lately I've been on a sweater and cardigan binge lately...I'm loving all the soft material and longer lengths, perfect for pairing leggings and boots with. My main squeeze {aka go to color} has been cream. Everything about this cable knit screams COZY.

I've been eyeing this Clare V Leopard clutch for over a year now and I just feel like..what is a girl to do? Dustin and I are headed to Maui for our honeymoon in January and this would be the perfect clutch to carry around!

Today has been quite the emotional day. For those of you following along religiously {thank you} not only for your support as I experiment with Smitten By You and what doors may open, but for listening to me when I'm being a complete sap. I'm a very passionate person..with that being said..some would say {ahum, my future hubs} I feel every emotion deeply. I consider it a blessing and a curse. A blessing because my dad could so very much relate. 

Today was my dad's birthday. While I'm at a place of peace with his passing, there's so many emotions flaring today. I had a list of "things to do" as always and today I thought...I'm going to take this time to unwind, watch a Nicolas Sparks movie {my favorite}, and let whatever emotions spill out. Well, it happened....and I can't help but chuckle because it was over a youtube video of Sara Bareilles {sweetest ever} helping two couples with their engagements. The ending...where the other person is surprised...yeah, that face.. it totally got me. Done. Full tears. Anyways, the moral of this post...let those feelings go! Feel on! Even if its deep and raw...chances are you'll end up smiling because you let go {#frozen...sorry}. 

Anyways, I really hope boyfriend jeans/shorts don't go out of style anytime soon{ish}...because I wear them like they're going out of style. They're like the ice cream to my cone, the peanut butter to my spoon, and the shoe to my closet { ha ha...I'm losing it}. And this lace maxi cardigan though?! The other day I went to the mall and I'm not lying when I say it's slim pickins' here in Cedar Falls....but one place I can always count on is The Buckle. Fact: I use to work there in college...Fact: I never came home with a pay check. Anyways, thank you to the Cedar Falls Buckle for picking out the cutest lace dress for our Couple's Shower and this lace maxi cardigan. Definitely a repeat for summer! Oh my and i can't forget these Mia shoes here. These lovelies caught my eye from a mile away!! Fierce fringe!

Phew, as I'm settling into bed and of course playing catch up, I can't help but to feel overwhelming joy. Although this weekend was go, go go, I started it with family and ended it with family {#blessed}. So, here is my weekend recap. It started off with my wonderful mama shopping for wedding center pieces {and of course shopping}. I've said it before and I'll say it again..wedding planning thus far as been so fun! 

With the big details blowing in the wind...there still comes the small details. Everyone says, "It's the big things that count." or "No one pays attention to the small details." All of which are probably accurate...except when your OCD about the "small details" and you were born OVER-observant. Yes, dramatic but {#truelife} I'm a perfectionist. So here comes my melt down rant...{don't worry it won't last. I'll be off making a new mental list}. I feel way over my head with these small details. Nothing is more rewarding then checking an item off the to do list..but nothing is more overwhelming when adding five more! What's that saying...one step forward...two steps back? NAILED IT. 

What keeps a girl grounded in a time of weddingwhelmness {Yes, I made that word up}? Family, friends, and the "little details" of life. I realize while my mind may be full....my heart can as well. Translation... when my heart is full, my mind becomes less of a distraction and block because I know at the end of the day...I get to marry my best friend...with the most important family and friends a girl could ask for! 

Side distraction...isn't this location magical? Of course my photographer never disappoints {Tess you my girl}! I'm loving mixed prints this season! I feel like my five year old self again, when mom was away, and dad would say "you can pick out what you want to wear today." To say the least...I'm still learning...but challenge accepted.

I'm pretty sure I should wear this tank everyday. Maybe, just maybe it would be a great reminder not to be late....{#wishfulthinking}! My photographer put my lateness in perspective and it goes something like this, "I've officially ran out of excuses. I will likely be a little late because of who I am as a person." {ha ha}

Confession: I'm a sucker for graphic t-shirts with rad sayings. So, naturally when I saw this tank from Nordstrom it was a "meant to be, had to have" kind of purchase. I have a girl crush on this graphic t's as well here and here. These shoes by the way... are super comfortable. Dustin says he's living out the Justfab commercial where the husband is disturbed by the amount of shoes arriving to the house. I about lost it then and there. But real talk, I'm addicted to Justfab! I'm currently trying to chose from these here and here. Decisions decisions!
