Phew, I feel like its been forever since I've posted. Mother nature and daylight savings time haven't exactly been on my side, but that's life! I hope you all enjoyed your Turkey Day and as the saying goes, gobbled till you wobbled. This year was full of first times for many things and as a family it was hard to celebrate without the life of the party, my dad. However, the importance of Thanksgiving besides all the delicious food is being with family and celebrating what in fact you're thankful for everyday. So, as a late-post..I am thankful for the memories my family and I carry and for the support of friends and family! Thank you for all who follow, I enjoy expressing what I love through fashion. Tis' the season for cute wool coats, blanket scarves, and everything holiday! I get so excited for the holidays and as soon as Halloween wraps up...I really get into the holiday spirit. Last weekend mama and I took a trip to the new West Des Moines Nordstrom Rack and WOW is all I can say! I was so excited when this oh so darlin' Michael Kors wool coat caught my eye. I love all the gold hardware accents and did I mention I snagged it for under $100? That's the best thing about Nordstrom Rack is all the designer name brands for less! Michael Kors has been one of my favorite designers for sometime and I am just loving his new fall/winter purse collection.  Happy Monday! I hope you all survived Halloween and didn't did stuff your belly full of candy..I know I sure did! Unfortunately we didn't go all out and dress up this year, but we enjoyed seeing all the creative costumes and having D's nieces and nephew over. Well, I'm absolutely smitten with this blanket scarf by Brina Box that I scored on Groopdealz for $20! Yes, you heard right, $20. The quality is amazing and the autumn colors are to die for. In case you lovely readers missed my last bragging session about Groopdealz, I'm here to preach about this amazing site again... every day a new deal is added {hints groopdealz} but what I love most besides the obviously reasons, is both the quality and quantity of each product is fabulous. Ahh, what a fun and relaxing weekend with family and friends! Every year Dustin's side of the family has their annual pumpkin party in a big cozy farm shed. Some of the fun festives include a pumpkin carving contest {over 30+ people participate}, best crock pot soup contest {16 different soups to be exact} and a pinata game for the kiddos....not to mention a variety of sweets, which you can't possibly stop at one! At the end of the party, everyone leaves with a full belly and a little waddle in their step! This year was my first time taking part in the soup contest and I chose this Pepper Jack Potato Soup recipe from Pinterest {here} and it was a hit. Although our soup didn't win {Dustin is convinced it's because we didn't make enough} we were up against some great competition! Anyways, I feel so blessed to share such a great tradition with a wonderful group of people and it's a time to remember those who aren't with us in present, but surely are in spirit. Excuse the historical pup faces and the pupbombs, they don't look all too enthused do they?!

 Happy Friday, what's that saying....oh yeah TGIF! So I'm all about this Aztec Cardigan that I bought last season. I love how this cardigan has vibrant colors and the fabric is nice and thick for those cold fall or winter nights. Hello loves, I'm not going to lie, this Paso Fino Horse Ranch is breathtaking. A family friend of ours owns and takes so much pride in her ranch but how couldn't you? The horses are beautiful and the pastors stretch on for miles, all of the fall colors and stables are simply tranquil. Anyways, this fall I've made it a point to step out of my usual color scheme and try different patterns as well as colors. I've always had a thing for cable knits and I adore this Old Navy Mustard Knit Sweater. Although it's sold out online, I've linked similar ones that are amazing as well. Also, if you couldn't already tell, I'm really into layering. As I mentioned before, if you're not quite sure on how to layer different pieces, start with a familiar color and pair it with a flannel or a shirt with a pattern {polka dots, gingham, etc.}. You can never go wrong by adding a statement necklace for a finishing touch or even a long pendent like this Stella & Dot one that I over wear!
